So what can you expect to earn as a Consultant Philosopher in schools?
 
There is full time work available out there as the increase in demand for philosophy in schools and philosophy with children grows. All of our consultants are self-employed which means they can dictate the amount of work they do per week. Here is a rough guide to our pay scheme.

There are 4 levels of pay for consultants before becoming a Senior Consultant:
 
  1. •Level 1 (£20 per session) is after you have completed Stage 1 training, but have yet to have experience in a school on your own
  2. •Level 2 (£25 per session) is a term after working in a school on your own
  3. •Level 3 (£30 per session) is after successful observation and completion of Stage 2
  4. •Level 4 (£40 per session) is the final level before Senior Consultancy level
  5. •A Senior Consultant (£45 per session) is able to run Inset training as well as teach philosophy in schools
Part Time work (8 sessions a week), per annum:
 
  1. •Level 2: £10,400
  2. •Level 3: £12,480
  3. •Level 4: £16,640
  4. •Senior Consultant: £18,720 plus Inset
Pay Scale
Full Time work (18 sessions a week), per annum:
 
  1. •Level 2: £23,400
  2. •Level 3: £28,080
  3. •Level 4: £37,440
  4. •Senior Consultant: £42,120 plus Inset
